Genealogist Vicky Zuverink will present “Lineage Societies – Does Your Ancestor Make You Eligible?” at the July 7 program of the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society. She will speak about the goals, projects, and membership requirements of several hereditary societies including the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ms. Zuverink is an Honorary State Regent of Indiana DAR and past-regent of the Piankeshaw Chapter. She will be assisted by Kathy Kessinger, Piankeshaw Chapter vice-regent. Both ladies are members of several lineage societies and can guide individuals in contacting groups of interest.
Floyd County Bicentennial Coordinator Melissa Wiseheart will announce local Bicentennial events including the torch relay, the “First Families of Floyd, Clark, and Harrison Counties Legacy Project” and other events. A meet and mingle with light refreshments begins at 6:45 PM with the program at 7 PM in the Strassweg Auditorium of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library, 180 W. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana.
